FEELINGS AND CHRISTIAN YOUTHS: THE WAY OUT OF UNGODLY FEELINGS
FEELINGS are inevitable into the chemistry of human body. Feelings are contingent to many factors. Feelings are unavoidable in human's life and lifestyles. Feelings could be as a result of both intrinsic and extrinsic factors. However, Christian youths must not be ignorant that the devil is roaring like a lion, wanting to use their feelings to destroy the original plan and purpose of God for their lives. Many youths would have become so great in life but due to their response to ungodly/unholy feelings, they have been barred from becoming who God predesigned them to become. Feelings is coordinated by the mind. What goes into the mind is exhibited by human feelings. Therefore, we can say feelings are products of the mind's processor. In Genesis 3vs6, Eve's feeling pushed her against the Will of God. In 2 Samuel 13, we are made to understand that Amnon's act towards Tamar was as a result of what his mind processed. The scripture makes us to know that after he (Amnon) committed sexual immorality with Tamar, he hated her beyond measure.

Dear youths, I must tell you that feelings, if not scrutinized scripturally will produce what may possibly put you in regret. Many youths, even adults have lost their relationship with God, due to the fact that they did not subject their feelings to the Holy Spirit. Lust of any kind is as a result of the response to ungodly feelings which is being processed to the mind. The only remedy to falling victim of ungodly feelings is to get yourself sanctified. You might say you are born-again yet you are still locked up in the bondage of lust. This is because you do not know and understand what Jesus Christ has completed for you on the Cross. Paul was writing to the Colossian Christians, which also applies to us; in Colossians 3vs3, the scriptures says "ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." This tells us that 'we are not just dying, but dead.' Jesus Christ, when he went to cross has nailed your ungodly/unholy feelings with its affections on the Cross. So, you only need to walk in what Jesus Christ has perfected for you. Walking in it requires that you follow the life of Christ, allowing Him genuinely into your life.

HOW DO YOU SUBJECT YOUR FEELINGS?

The best way of subjecting your feelings is through walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5vs16). Remember that if you are born-again, you are also born of the Spirit of God (John 3vs5), therefore if the Spirit of Christ dwells in you, He will surely quicken your mortal body (Romans 8vs11) and you will find any ungodly feeling detesting to you. You will as well shut the door of your heart against every form of ungodly/unholy feelings. You must always remind yourself that you are no longer the one living but CHRIST who lives in you. Jesus Christ said in John 6vs63 that His words are Spirit and Life. This means that the word of God is Spirit and Life. Since the word of God is Spirit and Life, you must acquaint yourself with the word of God, not because you want to preach or teach someone else, but because you want to apply it to your Christian life.
It is also very pertinent that you live a prayer life. When you don't pray, you will surely become a prey. Prayer is a communication with God. Note: prayer is not a communication to God, but a communication with God. Communication is never complete without feedback. In prayer, you must make sure you receive at least a word from God. Don't pray as a routine, but pray because you must communicate with your heavenly Father. In prayer, we receive divine guidance (for those who are sensitive to the Father, not those who are in a hurry).
I pray that the Lord shall deliver every youth from ungodly/unholy feelings that has crippled their spiritual life in Jesus name (AMEN).
