THE IMAGE OF GOD Part 2

TEXT: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (John 4vs24)

MESSAGE

Many Christians chant "I AM THE IMAGE OF GOD", they say that their physique is exactly God's physique. That's not true - God does not have the same physique as ours. Human beings are made of the dust - our body is made of the dust. God was not made let alone to be of the dust. What makes us THE IMAGE OF GOD is not the body but the SPIRIT. What makes man the IMAGE OF GOD is the SPIRIT OF GOD in man. John 4vs24 says God is a Spirit and that anyone who desires to constantly and consistently worship Him must do that in Spirit and in truth. It is impossible to worship God in the flesh or with an ordinary body.

When an individual gives his or her life to CHRIST, he or she gains back his/her lost virtue - Spirit of God is restored back to Him for guidance and perfection of the work of Grace. John 3vs5 tells us that except a man be born of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit (Spirit of God) is God Himself. Anybody who is now born of the Spirit of God is an IMAGE OF GOD.

Someone who is born of the Spirit of God is holy in everything. The IMAGE OF GOD is holiness - the Spirit of God is holiness, therefore if you say you are an IMAGE OF GOD, you must be apparently and totally holy, no uncleanness should be seen ir found around you, you must jettison and also detest any form of unholiness. This is because you cannot have a smooth communication and relationship with God without a life of Holiness. Those who worship God must worship Him in Spirit and in truth. Check yourself - are you truly an IMAGE OF GOD? Do you possess His attributes? Are born of the Holy Spirit of God? Do you allow Him to guide you through in your daily affairs? You need to ponder on these questions and provide genuine answers to them, thus leading you to pray as God has ministered to you.

POINT TO NOTE: Except you are born of the Holy Spirit and you constantly and consistently live by the Holy Spirit, you are not an IMAGE OF GOD.

ACTION POINT: Check yourself and reconcile your ways back to God and be born of the Holy Spirit of God.
