DIVINE RECOGNITION
TEXT: I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end (Daniel 6vs26)
MESSAGE
Everybody loves to be recognised and promoted. There are different recognitions - your Pastor can recognise you as the most fervent worker in the church, your friends and relatives may recognise you as the nicest person, your boss at workplace may recognise you as the most hardworking personnel in the organisation; meaning that recognition can come from different sources and can take different forms. However, irrespective of the kind of recognition given to man, when he fails before God, if he lacks integrity before God, he can never be recognised by God as one of his obedient children.
Divine recognition is an end result of one's diligence and obedience to the Will and word of God. Divine recognition is a product of uncompromising faith in Christ/God. Divine recognition is a function of one's immovable and unwavering convictions and commitment unto God and His words. Divine recognition is the non-bargaining response elicited by God towards an uncompromising stimulus of faith of a Christian.
To receive divine recognition as Daniel did, we need to be saved and sanctified as Daniel; we need to separated from worldliness and be consecrated unto godliness as Daniel did; we need not to eat any defiling meat presented to us by the world (i.e. we must not follow the patterns of life presented to us by the world). As Daniel was faithful and diligent before God and man, we must as well be faithful and diligent as well.
Divine recognition does not come on a platter of gold but on a platter of SACRIFICE, that is self-denial from worldliness and on a platter of obedience and diligence. Daniel was in a strange land as many of us are in the midst of strange people (people who are of the world), yet Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat. As Daniel, no matter the cost implication of standing for HOLINESS, we must not defile ourselves with the presents presented to us freely by the world, be it in fashion, entertainment music, drama, etc. When we do all these, though the beginning may be tough and rough, yet God will cause those who neglected and rejected us to bow before us and our God as in the case of Daniel.
POINT TO NOTE: Divine recognition only comes on a platter of obedience and diligence unto the word of God.
ACTION POINT: Come out of worldliness/ungodliness and embrace godliness if you truly desire divine recognition.
