ASCRIBE IT TO GOD

TEXT: David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee (1 Samuel 17vs37)

MESSAGE

Carefully read the following:

"At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws" (Daniel 4vs29-33)

God detests greatly an act of pride - pride makes one to view one's ability and acquisitions in respect to self. King Nebuchadnezzar did it and he rapidly and instantly reaped its consequence. A great lesson to learn from David and Nebuchadnezzar. David was as bold as lion; courage/boldness seems to be in his genes/blood; he killed lion with his bare hand, yet in all these David did not exalt his victory and success in respect to self, instead he ascribed it to God. He never intended to approach king Saul as a warrior based on his ability, rather he approached the king based on what God can do through him. Victory and promotion was the outcome of his humility and godliness.

Beloved, everything you acquired is permitted by God. Every good thing you become is permitted by God - your promotion, your sound health, journey mercies, your financial provisions, your joyful marital bliss, etc. are as a result of God's permission to let it be which is borne out of His love. Therefore, we must daily and at every time give all glory to God on every success, achievement and victory.

POINT TO NOTE: Man without God is ZERO and man with God is HERO

ACTION POINT: Live everyday giving glory to God in all situations.
