CHRIST'S PROVISION FOR PERFECTION
TEXT: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5vs16)
MESSAGE
Before the ascension of Jesus Christ, He met with the disciples and told them that when He leaves, God would send the Comforter (Holy Spirit) who will teach them all things and remind them of everything He has taught them (John 14vs26). From this, we can then see the work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of God's children (Christ's followers). The work of the Holy Spirit is to teach us all things and remind us of what He has taught us. This means that no Christian can succeed in his or her Christian race without yielding to the teachings of
the Holy Spirit.
After a man gave his life to Jesus Christ genuinely, there is a need for him to continue in CHRIST; there is a need to understand that the devil is striving to get him back into their fold; there is a need to understand that the world is being controlled by the prince of this world - Satan, thereby using several innovations and worldliness to get the minds of God's children off the race. Due to this, in order to attain perfection in Christ, even till He comes to take us to Himself, WE NEED TO WALK ALWAYS IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. This is the first provision Jesus Christ provided for those who have received Him which will help us from falling victim of FALSEHOOD.
Read this again for better understanding:
19Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you" (John 14vs26).
Apostle Paul also told the Galatian Christians that the only remedy for not fulfilling the lust (dictate, emotional allurement) of the flesh is to WALK ALWAYS IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. Walking in the Spirit means to stay connected to the Holy Spirit, no matter what we are doing or where we are. Staying connected requires meditating on God's word, prayer, singing spiritual songs and speaking/praying in tongues (as the Holy Spirit gives utterances). Christians who truly long for perfection must not rule out daily communion or communication with the Holy Spirit 24/7.
POINT TO NOTE: A daily communion or communication with the Holy Spirit, as well as yielding to the Holy Spirit is a determining factor to an acceptable and a successful Christian life.
ACTION POINT: Walk always in the Spirit of God so that you will not fall, fail or falter.
