KNOWING THE CHRISTIANS

TEXT: And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts (Galatians 5vs24).

MESSAGE

Every individual is easily known and identified by their characters. You will agree with me, that in most cases one may not know or might have forgotten the name of a particular person but it is always easy to remember their characters, attitudes or dispositions. So, when you are asked the name of a person and you cannot remember, you begin to describe the person by attitude or character. In the same vein, people may not know you by name or religion but they can describe or name you by your character or attitude.

HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY CHRISTIANS?

Our Bible text points to us that one vital way of identifying Christians is that they have crucified the flesh with its lusts and affections. Christians are dead to worldliness - when worldliness beckons on them, when it tries to allure or entice them with its materials, the worldly pleasures become irritating to them; when they (the Christians) are offended either deliberately or accidentally, they don't respond with anger neither do they revenge; their appetites for worldliness and ungodliness have been nailed on the CROSS; they don't follow worldly innovative trends that penetrates even into the church. Their slogan is "OTHERS MAY, BUT I WILL NOT."

As Christians, we must crucify the flesh by turning against any form of worldliness. The more you say NO to worldliness, the more you crucify the flesh. The more you respond evil deeds or any wickedness done against you by a known person with good deeds and love, the more you crucify the flesh and the more you become like Christ. Many people may not know you by name but they will be calling you PASTOR or MOTHER-IN-ISRAEL. Jesus Christ told us in Matthew 5vs16 that we should let our light so shine that people may see our good works and glorify God (our Heavenly Father).

POINT TO NOTE: Christians are known by crucifixion of their flesh, nailing it at the CROSS - it is by this we can become Christlike.

ACTION POINT: Shun worldliness and ungodliness, then live daily in CHRIST/SPIRIT OF GOD, not in flesh.
