ACCEPTABLE WORSHIP
TEXT: Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness (Psalms 29vs2)
MESSAGE
Worship is an act of obedience to God. Worship is an act of obedience to God. Worship is an act of obedience to God. This is not a tautology nor unnecessary repetitions, rather it is an emphasis. God cherishes worship so much. In fact, we are created to worship God. What many Christians in churches/denominations know to be worship is telling God how great and marvelous He is, calling His names both in general language and in one's dialect. It is worship but that is not actually what worship means. Worshipping God means living our entire life for God; it means living in holiness and righteousness unto God; it means saying YES to every directive of the Holy Spirit. Someone who worships God does place God's Will as being superior to his or hers.
What then is an acceptable worship? In Philippians 2vs12, apostle Paul said "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. In the scripture above, underline the word ...not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence..." From this, an acceptable worship means living in obedience to God both in the open and in our secret places. Secondly, Psalms 29vs2 says "Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." Acceptable worship is a worship made in true and sincere holiness. Proverbs 21vs27 says "The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?" God does not accept any worship/eulogies made in unholiness or hypocrisy.
POINT TO NOTE: Acceptable Worship is an act of total obedience to God.
ACTION POINT: Live daily in obedience to God's word. By this, you're giving God acceptable worship.
